Whej is a beverage made of primary, sweet, fermented lactose-free whey. The taste is enriched with a fruity addition of plum and cinnamon, which makes the product’s colour pale pink. Whej is of a liquid consistency, a pleasant but not overly sweet taste that is intertwined with the freshness of fermented whey. The beverage is lactose-free and naturally fat-free, which is excreted into the cheese during the process of making the whey.

Whej is filled into 500g bottles.

The name of the product “Whej” can be pronounced “uej”, a term with which shepherds in the Soča region were calling livestock from pastures or greeted each other. At the same time, it is also similar to the English word for whey, whereby the basic ingredient of a product is illustrated in a derivative way.
