We decided to buy milk only in the area where we live in Slovenia, and that this will be our specialty. We only buy milk from cows grazing on farms in hilly areas in the Soča River Valley and the Idrijca River Valley. By buying milk from local farmers, we provide consumers with quality local food, while ensuring the existence of livestock farming, farmland, and contributing to farmers’ income and employing workers in our area.
It is the Soča River that gave us inspiration for the creation of the Soča cheese, as it combines the taste “from Soča to the mountains”. We added the selected pieces of smoked trout, prepared by the Faronika Tolmin fish farm.
Raw materials are obtained only from areas of untouched nature. For products with industrial hemp additives, we get hemp as a raw material from the area of the Notranjska Regional Park. Wild oregano (also called dobra misel, i.e. kind thought) is a medical herb, which is, especially for our cheese, picked in the mountains enclosing the Soča Valley.
